interferon alfa-2a

interferon alfa-2a, a synthetic form of interferon-α produced by recombinant technology that acts as a biological response modifier. It is used as an antineoplastic in the treatment of hairy cell leukemia and AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma. It is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously.
