idiotype

idiotype /id″ē·ətīp′/ [Gk, idios + typos, mark] , unique differences between immunoglobulins of different antigen-binding specificities. Idiotypes are determined by the structure of the variable regions of the immunoglobulins. This also applies to T-cell receptors.
