exposure /ikspō″zhər/ [L, exponere, to lay out] , 1. a measure of the ionization of air produced by a beam of radiation. It is expressed as coulombs per kilogram of air. 2. a state of being in the presence of or subjected to a force or influence (e.g., viral exposure, heat exposure).
