exertional headache

exertional headache /igzur″shənəl/ [L, exserere, to stretch out; AS, heafod + acan, headache] , an acute headache that occurs during strenuous exercise. It usually recedes when the level of effort is reduced, when an analgesic medication is taken, or both.
