ethambutol

ethambutol /etham′butol/ , an antibacterial agent specifically effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is administered orally as the hydrochloride salt, in conjunction with one or more other antituberculous drugs, in the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis.
