esophagospasm

esophagospasm /esof″əgōspaz′əm/ [Gk, oisophagos, gullet, spasmos] , spasmodic contractions of the walls of the esophagus. The symptoms are substernal chest pain similar to angina pectoris and dysphagia for both liquids and solid food.
