epidermal nevus

epidermal nevus /-dur″məl/ [Gk, epi + derma, skin; L, naevus, birthmark] , a discrete discolored congenital lesion caused by an overgrowth of epidermis. It may be seen in newborns. Also called epithelial nevus, hard nevus.
