encapsulated /enkaps″yəlā′tid/ [Gk, en + L, capsula, little box] , (of arteries, muscles, nerves, and other body parts) enclosed in fibrous or membranous sheaths. It refers to organisms that form a protective capsule. See also Tenon’s capsule, synovial sheath.
